Dear Residents of Newark,
My name is Michael O’Neal, and I am honored to announce my candidacy for Mayor of Newark. As a long-time resident and a professor at the University of Delaware, I have spent nearly two decades living, working, and raising my family in the heart of this city. Newark is more than just where I live—it’s my home, and I am deeply committed to its future.
Like many of you, I want to see a city government that is transparent, accessible, and responsive to the needs of its residents. My experience in shared governance, policy development, and community service has prepared me to bring a thoughtful, solutions-oriented approach to city council. I believe in responsible growth that enhances our quality of life, protects our resources and environment, and ensures equal opportunities for all of our citizens. With a fresh perspective and a strong work ethic, I am ready to serve and advocate for a Newark that thrives for generations to come.
